Nintendo Shits on Metroid Again at E3 2019

Hey, I'g back. This commodity wait longer than expected, but I did for 2 reasons, I was waiting to hear back from some sources about something I'll get into presently, and I too wanted to let things simmer for a scrap.

With that out of the style, what did I recollect about Nintendo's E3?

It was fantastic. Lots of diverseness, a couple of crawly surprises and Samus finally made her return to a Nintendo console in 2nd, for the first fourth dimension since 1994. Were at that place a ton of Megatons? No. But I don't think they needed many. Nintendo went back to many of the fan favorites this year, and I support that motion 100%. It'due south going down as one of my accented favorite directs. Nintendo saved what would've been an otherwise awful E3 one time again.

Allow's get into the lineup.

Kazuya in Boom:

This was a cool surprise. I'one thousand non much of a Tekken fan, but I admittedly felt like Namco Bandai deserved a second rep in Boom, and Tekken fabricated the most sense. Kazuya is Tekken's Ryu, so seeing him join Ryu, Ken and Terry is pretty awesome. Equally expected, he's super faithful to his series, and he looks like a lot of fun to play.

(He's probably already out by the time this commodity goes up.)

Nosotros have one more than character to get, and while I take no idea who it is, I take a feeling they've saved the biggest character for final. Here's hoping Smash ends with a bang.

Super Monkey Brawl Banana Mania:

Not a Nintendo announcement necessarily, but I have to gush about this one.

I could non be more excited. They fucking nailed it. The art fashion? Check. The level blueprint being exactly the same? Check. Having all twelve mini games? Check. The three games they decided to remake? Check. Having the original designs as unlockable costumes? Check. Sonic and Tails as unlockables? Check. This is everything I wanted and more. 40 bucks for this is a STEAL. I'm buying five or six copies to show my support for this. Super Monkey Ball is getting a better anniversary than Sonic, and I volition die on that hill.

WarioWare Get Information technology Together!:

This was an E3 of Nintendo revivals, and this is one of the articulate examples why. WarioWare has e'er been i of Nintendo's most inventive and quirky series, and this game looks to be no exception. Information technology'due south good to see Wario having a starring function in anything, really. Hither'due south hoping we don't accept some other decade long drought.

Advance Wars 1+2 RE: Boot Camp:

Holy shit. I could not believe my optics when I saw Andy and company pop up on the screen. It's been and so long since Accelerate Wars was in the spotlight that I just gave up hope about the series returning. I was absolutely blown away and I'yard extremely excited nigh Nintendo giving this franchise a chance again. WayForward has and then far, done a great task of modernizing these characters for a new generation. If you desire more Advance Wars, BUY THIS. We have to show Nintendo where the money is, if we want more than dormant franchises to render. Absolutely stoked.

Mario Party Superstars:

Oh man, oh wow. Nintendo went and said "Hey, let'southward give Zippo exactly what he wants." And did they ever. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT We'VE WANTED. 100 of the all-time minigames, 5 of the all-time boards, and online play in every mode. This is a dream come true, and I'thousand one time again stoked. Mario Political party Mania is a more fitting title, because that's exactly what this is.

Breath of the Wild 2/Other Zelda Stuff:

Firstly, Breath of the Wild two's trailer. To be honest, I wasn't jumping out of my seat for this. Information technology was pretty keen, simply nix at that place was super groundbreaking, Link's new arm looks absurd, and I'm sure at that place volition be some fun new gameplay mechanics added to it, but there wasn't exactly a whole lot to the trailer, information technology seems more like a message of "Hey, it exists, don't worry!" rather than a full gameplay showcase, which is fine, merely eh, I'thou just looking frontward to hearing more than, whenever that'll be. While I'm happy the data I was given nearly a 2022 release was accurate, at that place's still doubts in my mind that even that might happen, like many other games, Covid ate Zelda alive, and the furnishings information technology'southward had are pretty damn obvious. Speaking of which:

Zelda'due south getting a pretty lame anniversary. A neat Zelda themed Game and Watch, Skyward Sword HD, and... that's it, really. Obviously, Mario is Nintendo's golden boy, and Zelda was never going to receive the same amount of treatment, only I will say I expected more than this. With the other rumored Hard disk Zelda ports being moved to next year, nix else in sight, not even merchandise, it really makes you wonder if they actually had much else planned, pre covid.

METROID DREAD:

I could get on a fanboy splooge fest about Metroid for hours, but I won't. Anybody else has said everything that's needed to be said about information technology. Metroid Dread looks fucking incredible. The tone, the music, the visuals, everything simply hits right. This is the outset panel 2d Metroid in 27 years, and the first 2D Metroid in well-nigh two decades, and it looks to have been well worth the await. The story of Metroid Dread has spanned nearly half of my life, and it's an incredible sight to finally see it come to fruition. I'grand seeing exactly why Sakamoto was so happy with Mercurysteam at present. October is looking similar i of the all-time months for video games in a long fourth dimension. It's a month of revivals. Get here already. Buy this game, show your support. Let'southward become more 2d Metroid happening.

(Oh, by the way, if you're one of those goldfish brained morons who are upset with people who are willing to buy a new Metroid game for lx bucks, so you desperately need to find a new hobby, because you lot're an embarrassment. I'thousand talking Era admin level.)

What Was Missing:

A lot of people thought there would exist more. Like, for example, DK, Splatoon 3, a new 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Monolitsoft's new game, Prime 4, etc. Why they weren't there is a pretty easy matter to answer, and it might surprise you...

Nintendo decided to non show them off because they didn't desire/have to. What they showed off was more than enough for many people, myself included. I'll go over a few and give a few updates on what I know:

Burn Emblem Remake:

Yes, this is very much happening. What I practice not know currently is which Burn Emblem game is existence remade. Fans seem to be split between either Genealogy of the Holy State of war, or The Called-for Blade. Either would make sense, considering both titles have never seen an English language release. Again, I've been told once once again that this is a game that is nearly complete, so I encounter Nintendo sitting on it until they're expert and ready to make an When I know more, I will make an update. Have some patience Fe fans, you're gonna be eating good before too long.

Donkey Kong:

This is an interesting case. This game has plainly been in development for over three years at present, and if I were a betting man, I would've absolutely had idea information technology would've been at E3, only information technology wasn't. I've heard a bit more almost this so perhaps this might aid put some people at ease.

I've been told by multiple people that Donkey Kong is the next franchise in line to follow Mario in Nintendo'due south push button for their game franchises to become multimedia juggernauts.

Donkey and co. aren't simply getting a new game, they're getting animation (Before this catches burn down, my sources did not specify whether or not this was a movie or a bear witness, but that an animation featuring DK characters was early in the works.) a big theme park expansion, merchandise, etc. This new game is not just a one off, DK is being taken seriously at the large N again, and that should be good news for fans everywhere.

Only exist patient. You'll be hearing more sooner rather than later.

And there information technology is. Phase 1 of the "Donkey Kong Renaissance" has begun. But a few days before the 40th anniversary of DK's debut in America, no less!

With that said, that'southward all I accept for today. I'll be dorsum with something on the fun side very soon. Until and so, accept care!
